Counselors and School Psychologists are available to support the socio-emotional needs of our students. We collaborate when assessing students for possible self-injurious and conducting threat assessments. We also work in partnership with community resources and families to ensure student safety and provide social –emotional learning opportunities as needed.
General Education Mental Health Services (GEMHS)
Monthly workshops in the library led by counselors. Workshops provide guidance and support for students in three areas: Academic, Social-Emotional, and College and Career. Workshops topics include, How to Handle Stress, Strategies for Overcoming Stress and Anxiety, Study Tips for Final Exams.
Counselors utilize our morning announcements once a month to provide all students with information on college requirements, how to be a successful student, and opportunities at Warren.
Community Agency Referrals
Currently, Warren Counselors can refer students to the following community mental health agencies: Community Family Guidance and Jewish Family and Children’s Services. Through the agencies, students and families can receive individual and/or group counseling that will assist students in cultivating skills in self-discipline, self-respect, empathy and anger management.
