Services Offered

  • Scholarships: Current list of national based scholarships are available in the Career Center.  Note: Not to be confused with the Local scholarship-this has its own application/webpage
  • College Entrance Exams:  SAT, ACT, and PSAT
  • Monthly College/University visits Warren HS to answer questions regarding admissions etc…
  • One-on-One Advisement regarding the College application process.
  • FAFSA/Dream Act information and important dates to apply for financial aid.
  • Eureka: Computerized guidance database to match skills to Career options and to complete Career Assessments and Career Exploration Projects packets.
  • Naviance: Career planning website personalized to each student at Warren HS, providing Career Planning, Assessments, College searches and Comparisons. College alert system to notify students of colleges matching their interests visiting WHS.
  • ASVAB Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery-detail career assessment sponsored by the military usually administer each year on campus.
  • CTE class information on how to register for CTE classes and so much more!
  • Current Job Posts: Up-to-date list of job openings
  • Work Permits available upon requests to our students ages 13-17

Warren’s Career Fair was a great success- thank you to all the WHS students and families that came out!

Congratulations to the 74 Warren students who will be competing in the Skills USA State Competition in San Diego this April!

 

UPCOMING EVENTS & INFO:

Yale College Presentation: Thursday, March 23rd at 10am in the library. Open to 9th & 10th graders, and seniors who applied to Yale. Come to Room O1 for an activity pass.

CSULB/ CSU Readiness Presentation: Friday, March 24th during both lunches in the College & Career Center. Open to 11th graders. Come to Room O1 to sign up.

Juniors- take the SAT/ ACT this Spring! Registration is open now. Come to Room O1 for help!

SENIOR UPDATES:

It’s scholarship season! Come to Room O1 for lists & opportunities!

Make sure to check your college portals and emails regularly- these are the main lines of communication for important information and deadlines from most campuses!

If you plan to attend CSU in the Fall, you will need to register for and take the ELM/ EPT placement tests, unless otherwise exempt. Come to Room O1 for test dates, study guides, registration assistance and to check your exemption status.

Many CSU’s, UC’s, and private colleges are beginning to send out financial aid offers. These come in the form of award letters, usually via your college portal or by email. Come to Room O1 for help understanding your award and the various types of aid you are being offered.

If you are planning to attend a community college next year but are not sure where to start, the College & Career Center can help! Come to Room O1 for assistance with applying, registering, assessments and orientation planning.
