Welcome to Biology!
Biology is a year long college prepatory class which satisfies your one year of life science required for graduation. You will also need one year of physical science which will be chemistry. After biology and chemistry, Cal States are UC schools are lookng for a third year of science (such as physics, anatomy/ physiology, or available AP courses).

My grading Policy:
Curriculum is introduced into monthly units with thematic ideas. There are 180 points disbributed for every month.
- Homework= multiple assignments to add up to 60 points
- Laboratory Write- Up= 60 points
- Monthly Exam= 60 points
If a student took initiative and got help on the 120 points (homework and lab) that they can get feedback on, that even if they struggle with exams they will do fine in class. Students have one week after we collect data to write-up their laboratory and do proof readings (unless I a lot class time for assistance, then the submittal date may be sooner).
If you miss an assignment, it will affect you significantly, so you cannot afford to miss the few points I assign through out the month.
I also feel that extra credit should be a supplemental for "oops" that happen through out the semester, so I offer (1) extra credit assignment worth approximately 30 points at the quarter and at the semester.
