  2. weary: physically or mentally fatigued

  3. lore: accumulated facts, traditions, or beliefs about a particular subject

  4. pondered: weighed mentally; thought over; consider.

  5. quaint: attractively unfamiliar or odd

  6. curious: strange, surprising, odd

  7. bleak: bare, exposed; windswept; unpromising; dreary

  8. ember: a small piece of glowing coal or wood in a dying fire

  9. wrought: archaic past and past participle of work

  10. vainly: arrogantly; futile

  11. surcease: cease

  12. radiant: emitting rays of light (of eyes or looks); beaming with joy or hope or  love; (of beauty) splendid or dazzling
