Benjamin Franklin Paper:
  1. Begin writing immediately.  Your work is due at the end of the period.

  2. Give your paper a proper MLA heading.  Second pages get the Second page heading.

  3. Open note, Open book

  4. Use your outline if you made one.

  5. Quote and paraphrase as needed.  For now, simplify parenthetical citations: (Film), (Bio), (AutoBio), (Almanack), (FilmWeb), (__X__)

  6. You don't have to start with the intro.  If you start with a subtopic, give your work a title like "Paragraph 3: Achieving Business Success"

Grading Key:

C/I = Central Idea

T/S = Thesis Statement

S/T = Sub-Topic (3 supporting paragraphs of body)

Org S/T = order of sub-topics doesn't match order in body paragraphs.  Order of S/T's needs reordering--consider chronology or a better organizing principle (1, 2, 3, not 3, 1, 2)

Source ? = What is your source?  Where did you get your information?  Where are your parenthetical citations?

"Q" = Use quotation marks around any direct quotations.  If you use an author's words you must put them in "Q" and provide a (P).

(P) = Parenthetical Citation needed

¶ dev = Paragraph Development: more supporting ideas, facts, and examples needed.  You might need to do some independent research.  Be sure to cite your sources (P), and either add it to your Franklin Works Cited list or keep track of the necessary information.
