Learning for ALL takes US ALL!

August 11, 2016

Dear Mustangs,

Welcome to 2016-2017 school year!   We hope you have had an awesome summer vacation and are excited and ready for the first day of school, which is just around the corner – Wednesday, August 17.

We have been very busy gearing up for another exciting school year.  We are all looking forward to sharing with you the results of our collaborative efforts over the summer and our new learning through Project Lead the Way (PLTW), 21st Century Learning Community (21CLC), Balanced Literacy and Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) Professional Development.

Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) President, Joshua Glaz and his board have been tirelessly planning activities for all of us to enjoy.  They have lined up many exciting events throughout the year.

We are very proud to announce new additions to our staff and a few changes in assignments.  Please welcome to our office administrative staff David Cid (Vice Principal), Tricia Kling (School Psychologist), Tracey Serrano (Attendance), and Garry Naval (Categorical Teacher On Special Assignment/ TOSA). This year Mrs. Bell will be in 2nd grade, Mr. Friedrich in 4th, Mrs. Munoz in 5th, Mrs. Eagen in primary grade SDC, and Miss Martinez in upper grade SDC. Finally, we wish Ms. Gabby Ruiz the best as Alameda’s new office manager.  We will miss her tremendously.

Please note that we have minimum day on our first day of school with TK/Kinder dismissal at 9:45 am and Grades 1 – 5 at 11:35 am.  Please view our August calendar on our website which could be accessed through www.dusd.net.

Lastly, we are very happy to let you know that we now have established a Twitter account.  Please follow us on Twitter @ RSGMustangs.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Lynn Ebora and the Rio San Gabriel Staff
