Principal’s Message

Dear parents, guardians, and friends of Griffiths Middle School,

I would like to welcome all our students back to GMS on Wednesday, August 16th.  This first day is a minimum day, and students will be dismissed at 12:24 p.m.  Please note that there is no lunch break/lunch service scheduled on minimum days.  Our regular schedule resumes on Thursday, August 17th, and students will be dismissed at 2:38 p.m.

I am very excited about our new school year. We celebrated many accomplishments at GMS last school year.  GMS received the Gold Ribbon Schools Award, the Title I School Achieving Award, and the Career Technical Education (CTE) Exemplary School Award. GMS was one of 275 middle and high schools to receive the Gold Ribbon Schools Award.  We were one of only two middle schools in the entire state of California to receive the CTE Exemplary School Award.)  I am very proud of our students and staff for these great accomplishments.  I look forward to the many highlights of the 2017-2018 school year. We have some key events scheduled during the first few weeks of school, so please scroll down to see our “August Important Dates.”

Enjoy the remainder of your summer break. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

Rani Bertsch, Ed.D.
